About Ion Networking
Ion Networking, LLC was established in 2004 under the steady guidance of Joe Cormier. In 2006, Joe merged with another local IT Company and Mike Estes came on board as a full partner. Together, Joe and Mike have built a great team of knowledgeable and personable technicians and manage a growing company. Several years later, one name change and lots of client referrals and Ion Networking is now a successful IT company servicing Southern Maine.
The Mission of Ion Networking remains unchanged, to provide personal, prompt and informed technology solutions to small business owners in Southern Maine in a manner that provides our customers a great value. In all aspects of the company we treat our customers as we would like to be treated and our referral rate shows that we are successful in this endeavor.
Meet Our Team of IT Professionals
Joe Cormier’s work history is a little different than most IT guys. He used to be a commercial diver, dive instructor and Fifty Ton boat captain.
When he decided to try something new, he decided to go back to school and get his Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer certification. He was the only one in a class of 25 to finish the class and get his certification. His first job as a computer tech was at a company called Downtime in Brunswick, Maine where he worked for 2 1/2 years before starting his own company Computer Geeks, that is now known as Ion Networking.
He has been working in the IT field for 10 years. He has been married to Nicki Cormier for 10 years now and they have two great kids together. When not working you might catch him out on the baseball field coaching the Windham little league team that Ion Networking sponsors.
Michael Estes has had a lifelong love of all things electronic and made the wise decision to enter the exciting world of computers in 1998. He started his IT career working for Champion Networks for several years, learning the industry and honing his diagnostic skills. In early 2005 he started his own business, Maine IT Services which worked closely with Joseph Cormier and Computer Geeks. This relationship worked so well in fact that they merged the two companies under Computer Geeks which then shortly afterward became Ion Networking. Michael is a full managing partner in Ion Networking and VP of Technical Services. Michael holds technical certifications from several vendors including Microsoft, HP, CompTIA and Cisco. He currently pursuing his Cisco CCNA.
When he is not installing, repairing, testing or tweaking some piece of digital technology he enjoys being father to two amazing daughters and when time allows he might be found playing soccer or riding his motorcycle.
Conrad Jellison a married father of 3 children. He has an associates degree's in Computer Technology and Fire Science Technology. He has over 12 years of experience in the computer industry with almost 5 years with Ion Networking. His background includes 20 years of experience in the Fire/EMS/Public Safety field. Ion Networking uses this knowledge and experience to better serve it's clients in these areas.
Nicki Cormier was born in England and moved to Maine 11 years ago. She's married to Joe Cormier and they have 2 children, age 5yrs and 7yrs old. Her employment background is in Administration and Bookkeeping. Nicki is excited to be getting more involved in the Marketing side of the business as time goes on.
